What is a moral absolute? Right and wrong, good and evil, truth and lies are all moral absolutes. When someone does evil and tells lies to make it seem right that is moral perversion. Islam fits that definition. But then so does communism and socialism and liberalism and so on...... Interestingly enough, even some Christians have trouble with moral absolutes. And again, curiously, there are those who claim no spiritual foundation yet do believe in moral absolutes.
The way I believe the battle lines are going to be drawn will be between right and wrong, good and evil, truth and lies. The better one understands their position, the stronger their stand will be. Those who strongly believe in hate and violence will be powerfully motivated to act out their hate. The people who are led by a strong moral compass will be the ones to defend and promote justice, truth, and equality.
There is a humorous definition of a fanatic "one who having lost sight of his goals redoubles his effort". And there is the dictionary version of fanatic " enthusiastic, inspired, zealous, sometimes overly so". I would personally like to be associated with some of the latter who are of the "strong moral compass" type. God knows there are plenty of the first definition folks running about.
We are at war you know. The enemy is very real, very sincere and very powerful. The enemy has clearly described exactly what he intends to do. There are a lot of them and they are becoming more bold and determined every day. They have already murdered, brutalized and displaced hundreds of thousands - all in the name of their god Allah. The only thing that will stop them is a people who:
1. know who the enemies are and what they intend
2. are more determined
3. are better equipped, and
4. know the true God and have a greater faith.
